Greg attended Montana State University from 1998 through 2003, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Academics
Greg studied Mechanical Engineering Technology as an undergraduate student. His focus area was manufacturing processes and technologies. The classes that he took were split evenly between mechanical engineering technology courses and industrial engineering courses focused on manufacturing process control. Senior Capstone - Greg worked with another engineering student on design and production of a laser used to mark the diameter of clay pots being thrown on a potters wheel. The goal of the project was to optimize the design for mass production of the laser pointer.
Civic Engagement
Greg was a community volunteer for the the Montana State University Residence Hall Assocation. As a freshman, he served as editor for the on-campus newsletter, called the Potty Press, as part of Interhall Residence Hall Association. As a junior, he served as the Treasurer for the North Hedges Residence Hall Association. As a senior, he served as Secretary of North Hedges Residence Hall Association. In 2003, he was named Residence Hall Association "Person of the Year" in recognition for his many years of contributions to the Montana State University Residence Hall Association.
College Jobs
As a Sophmore, Greg worked as a Residence Advisor in Langford Hall, serving as a leader for the residence hall and assisting students with living on campus.
As a Junior and Senior, Greg worked at University Food Service. Primarily a dishroom operator, Greg worked in the dishroom and in pots and pans, cleaning piles of dishes daily that were dirtied in the process of cooking, preparing, and consuming food in the university dining halls. Greg took on the role of Student Manager his last year of college, where he lead and supervised the work of other students working in food service.
In the summer, Greg worked at E-caps/Hammer Nutrition, answering phone calls, taking customer orders, and packing boxes in the shipping department.
